Sunan at-Tirmithiy كتاب المناقب باب فضل عائشة رضى الله عنها
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لاِبْنِ يَعْقُوبَ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ الْمُخْتَارِ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ عَنْ أَبِى عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِىِّ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم اسْتَعْمَلَهُ عَلَى جَيْشِ ذَاتِ السَّلاَسِلِ. قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَىُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ عَائِشَةُ. قُلْتُ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ قَالَ أَبُوهَا. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
The Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, assigned ‘Amr Ibnul-‘Āṣ as the commander of the army of Thāt as-Salāsil. ‘Amr approached the Messenger, peace and blessings of God be upon him, and asked, "Messenger of God, out of all people who is the most beloved to you?” He replied, “‘Ā’ishah.” ‘Amr further enquired, “And from among the men?” He replied, “Her father.” (1) Footnote: (1): i.e. Abū-Bakr aṣ-Ṣiddīq, may God be pleased with him.
